Grey and terracotta might sound like an unusual pairing, but on the Carmen it works - earthy enough to sit comfortably in a traditional garden, distinctive enough that it doesn't disappear into the background either. It's the kind of barbecue that manages to complement its surroundings and still stand out on its own.

Structurally it's the same reliable double-skinned, steel-reinforced build found across the Buschbeck range, TÜV/GS certified and built to shrug off the weather with next to no maintenance - an occasional jet wash is genuinely all it needs. Where the Carmen differs slightly is its two configurations: the standard version keeps the full chimney hood and works across charcoal, lump wood, and logs, while the side-table version removes that hood in favour of extra worktop space, which does mean it's limited to charcoal, briquettes, or lump wood only - worth knowing before you choose which one suits your setup. Either way, the four-height chrome grill and 54 × 34cm cooking area give you real control over how you cook, and there's a lower log storage compartment built in to keep fuel close at hand.
