Some garden structures are built to be useful. The Rondo is built to be noticed first and useful second - a curved white quartz body topped with a genuine copper mantle insert that develops its own patina over time, so no two gardens end up with quite the same barbecue.

Underneath the looks, it's a proper piece of kit. You're getting a fireplace, a cooking station, and a focal point in one build, put together from steel-reinforced concrete with a double skin that laughs off British weather - rain, frost, the rare heatwave - without ever needing repainting or sealing. Cook lunch over charcoal or briquettes, then once the food's done, swap to logs and let it burn on into the evening as a proper fireside heater. Four height settings on the chrome grill mean you're never fighting the flames to get your temperature right, and the 54 × 34cm grate has room for a decent-sized spread.

It's TÜV/GS certified in Germany, which tells you something about how it's engineered, but the real proof is in longevity - there are Buschbeck barbecues out there still working after twenty years. It doesn't arrive built, though: this is a kit, complete with adhesive and full instructions, and realistically it's a two-person, one-to-two-day job to put together. Once it's up, upkeep is minimal - an occasional rinse or pressure wash and it's done.
