It draws its character from Early Victorian design - a wide half-arched opening paired with a gracefully curved basket that echoes the same line, giving it a clean, architectural simplicity rather than heavy ornamentation.

Cast from solid iron and available in Black or Full Polish, the insert is built to pair with whichever surround and hearth suits your space, giving you far more flexibility over the finished look than a fixed combination unit allows. That makes it a particularly good fit for period restorations, where matching an existing surround matters, as well as for anyone building a more contemporary interior around classic detailing. It works with either solid fuel or gas fire options, so the setup can be tailored to how you actually want to use it.
