Schiedel Isokern 1200 Garden Fireplace

The Isokern 1200 is the largest outdoor fireplace in Schiedel's range, and it makes no attempt to be subtle about it. A 1180mm wide firebox opening, 1380kg of volcanic pumice construction, and a presence that commands any outdoor space - this is a fireplace that becomes the permanent centrepiece of a garden rather than a feature within it. Built from the same natural Icelandic pumice as the Isokern chimney range, it delivers the kind of heat output and retention that only volcanic rock can provide, while the outer surface stays cool to the touch throughout.

The pumice does what it always does - insulates exceptionally, reaches optimum temperature fast, retains heat long after the fire dies back, and resists the condensation and soot build-up that plague lesser materials. The 1200's substantial mass amplifies all of that, generating and holding significant heat that makes it as useful on a cold October evening as it is in the height of summer. No synthetic liners, no engineering compromises - just volcanic rock and the physics that have made it the benchmark insulation material for outdoor fire structures.

Delivered as a complete modular kit, everything needed for the build is included - chimney blocks, lip glue, firebricks, firebrick mortar, and render. The lightweight components make assembly straightforward, and the installation options are flexible: freestanding, wall-backed, or set on a raised plinth to suit the layout of the space. A minimum 100mm reinforced concrete slab is required as a foundation. The render finish can be painted or textured to match any garden aesthetic, and a range of optional extras - BBQ grill, rain cap, wave top terminal, additional chimney blocks, and a matching log store — allow the build to be specified exactly as needed.
