The Isokern 500 is the entry point to Schiedel's outdoor fireplace range - compact enough for smaller gardens, patios, and courtyards, but built from exactly the same natural Icelandic volcanic pumice as the larger models. The engineering logic doesn't scale down with the footprint: exceptional insulation, heat focused inside the firebox, and a cool outer surface throughout. Everything the 950 and 1200 deliver, in a format that fits where they can't.

At 685mm wide with a 510x540mm firebox opening, it's a genuinely usable fire rather than a decorative one - capable of generating and retaining meaningful heat for outdoor entertaining well into the colder months. The modular design means height isn't fixed either; additional 250mm chimney blocks can be added to suit the space, and installation options cover freestanding, wall-backed, or raised plinth configurations depending on the layout. A minimum 100mm reinforced concrete slab is required as a foundation.

Unlike the larger models, the Isokern 500 includes a BBQ grill as standard alongside the full kit - chimney blocks, firebrick panels, mortar, lip glue, and render - making it a complete outdoor cooking and heating solution straight out of the box. The render finish can be painted or textured to match any garden aesthetic, and optional extras including additional chimney sections and a log store allow it to be expanded over time.
